Mythology behind the name of FolkTale’s Mead

The Bane of the Ispolin

Before humans inhabited the Earth, it was ruled by legendary giants the Bulgarian’s called, Ispolin. They were the second of the three generations the God’s created to rule the earth. The first race were Dwarves. But their small stature hindered their ability to cultivate the land and protect themselves from wild animals. To compensate for the Dwarves inability to succeed on earth, the God’s created the opposite. Powerful giants, who’s calls could carry across vast distances and who’s strength could revile dragons.

Despite their strength and stature, the Ispolini were vulnerable by some of the vegetation on the earth. Due to their incredible height, they were unable to see the dangers of Blackberry Bushes. Blackberry Brambles became the bane of their existence, their large feet would become tangled in the thorns of the brambles, causing them to trip and fall to their death.

To appease the Blackberry Brambles, the Ispolin would offer sacrifices, in hopes to regain favour.
