history of Mead
Mead is an alcoholic drink, made by fermenting honey, probably the world’s oldest alcoholic drink. The earliest record of fermented honey was found in a 7000-6600 B.C Chinese burial tomb, and evidence of 3000-year-old ‘Nordic grog’ was uncovered in an archaeological dig in Denmark. I’m sure with more archaeological digs more discoveries of this ancient drink will be found, and the one thing we can all agree on in the history and origin of mead is, where ever there was honey, there was mead.
